Edible sensory activities can be highly engaging for most children, especially when sweets are involved. Edible sensory play makes it easy to turn baking with your toddlers into a learning environment in which they'll thrive. Edible play times are a perfect way to include more one on one activities into your day. Please make sure all elements are size appropriate. It is crucial to make sure that your sensory play options are safe and entirely edible. This is because young children are often more inclined to put various objects into their mouths.

Things you'll need for activity

• Store bought sugar cookie recipes or similar 
• While shimmer sugar
• 1 cup powdered sugar
• Water
• Mini chocolate chips
• Large marshmallows 
• Pretzel sticks
• Orange sprinkles 
• Store bought tube black icing
• Cookie sheet
• Parchment paper

How To Make

Step 1: bake cookies according to package directions.

Step 2: once fully cooled, make icing.

Step 3: mix 1 cup powdered sugar with a teaspoon at at time of water. Make a consistency that will flood the cookie, but not too thin.

Step 4: with a small spoon, add the icing to the cookies. Be sure it doesn’t flood over the sides or will be messy.

Step 5: add one marshmallow to each cookie.

Step 6: add pretzel sticks to the marshmallows. 

Step 7: add one sprinkle for the nose to each marshmallow.

Step 8: using the black icing, add dots for eyes and mouth.

Step 9: add 3 mini chocolate chips to the puddle of icing for buttons.
