Things you'll need for activity
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup salt
- 2 tablespoons cream of tartar
- 1 cup boiling water
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- Pink food coloring
- 1/2 cup of dried rose petals (can use fresh if you're dehydrating)
- Large mixing bowl
- Spoon or rubber spatula

- Heart cookie cutters
- Fresh or dried flowers on stems

How To Make
Step 1: if using fresh rose petals, break apart and place on a cookie sheet. *skip to step 4, if using store bought petals
Step 2: preheat oven to 270 degrees and bake until mostly dry. Keep an eye on them and stir every few minutes.
Step 3: remove from oven and allow to cool completely, best to use next day.
Step 4: in a bowl, mix all dry ingredients together.
Step 5: boil water.
Step 6: add a few drops of food coloring and coconut oil.
Step 7: pour boiling water into dry ingredients bowl.
Step 8: add dried flowers to bowl and mix until dough comes together.
Step 9: add a little flour to silicone mat and turn dough out onto mat.
Step 10: knead until smooth. If too sticky, add more flour or if too dry add more water, small amount at a time.
How To Play
Setup tray for play dough fun play. No rules, just fun. Depending on your childs skill level, you can demonstrate how to pot the flowers or how to stamp out the hearts with the cookie cutters.
